Holmlands teamed up with leading Iceland retailer Fjallakofinn, to present the Icelandic Premiere of Matchstick Productions "Drop Everything" at the Bíó Paradís in Reykjavik on Wednesday 13th December.
The event was our second international screening of the year and our sixth screening of Drop Everything, with the night proving to be the perfect way to close our 2017 events series. We enjoyed an incredible night with a packed crowd full of energy, laughter and smiles.
Ahead of the feature film, we showcased a fantastic short film by Julbo called "The Volcanic Kingdom." Within the kingdom of fire and ice, polar winds and a harsh climate are king and mountain tops are shaped by volcanoes. Here, outdoor sport enthusiasts are in their element. Snowboarders Flo Orley and Manuela Mandl went to explore those remote lands, well aware of what awaited them. With them they took a guest to share their Icelandic adventures, in a land which was once known as the Gateway to Hell. The short film was the perfect compliment to Drop Everything.
The night also included a Q&A with the team behind the Super Troll Ski race, a special three day annual event held in May in Tröllaskagi, Iceland.
We can't thank the team from Fjallakofinn and the people of Reykjavik enough for the incredible hospitality.
All profits from this event also went to local cancer charity Ljósið.
With special thanks to:
Fjallakofinn, Hlíðarfjall Akureyri, Bruggsmiðjan Kaldi, Fjallaskíðun, Super Troll Ski Race, Icelandair Hotels, Under Armour, Ljósið and Pétur Þór Ragnarsson Photography
